Seccurro involved in the construction of a new sea lock in IJmuiden (the Netherlands)

The Seccurro team has worked on this wonderful project in IJmuiden for 9 months.

Rijks waterstaat is building a new large sea lock in IJmuiden at the entrance to the North Sea Canal. The new sea lock offers room for the growing freight transport. The new, large sea lock will be 500 meters long, 70 meters wide and 18 meters deep. The new sea lock is the largest in the world. The caisson where everything is installed is no less than 81 meters long, 55 meters wide and 25.6 meters high.

The current Noordersluis will be taken out of operation after the new sea lock has been put into operation.
This is expected to be at the beginning of 2022.

Seccurro has supplied the glass crank cameras to VSF. The glass crank camera is used to monitor work under the caisson. This glass crank camera has been developed and produced by Seccurro.  The glass crank camera hangs under the caisson and records the work here. 24 glass crank cameras are operational. the total number of glass crank cameras Seccurro has delivered is 28.
